The Stealth is a refined mal shape made for surfers who want to use a longboard where a traditionally shaped mal can’t function.
“With most mals, you can’t take a really late drop or consistently get deep in the barrel. You’ll have difficulty surfing a standard longboard in real waves unless you’re extremely talented.
A big board with a lot of momentum can be hard to pull into a tight arc. The flex tail helps to bring it around. Back footing it to access the flex you can carve tighter arcs, and let it reflex out of turns.
I’m building more of this type of board for guys to take to Bali or wherever. The Stealth is not a hybrid; it’s a high performance longboard. A guy who rides a mal can jump on The Stealth and still have paddling power. But it rides like a Ferrari instead of a Ford.
Typical Stealth dimensions are 9’1” long, 21” wide, 2 ¾” thickness and 13 ¾ inch tail with a 16 ½ inch nose
