Whale Shark Wall Hanging

Whale Shark Wall Hanging

Not only is this spotted beauty the world's biggest fish, it's also one of the friendliest and is beloved by snorkelers and divers all over the world. Despite its size, it eats some of the ocean's smallest food: plankton. Its only predator is mankind and its conservation status is listed as vulnerable due to decreasing populations. It's found in the warmer waters of Australia and known to congregate in large groups in WA.

Conservation status: Vulnerable (population decreasing).

Conservation note: shark species worldwide face numerous threats and are especially vulnerable to over-fishing because they grow slowly, mature late and produce few young. Whale Sharks are fully protected in Australian waters.
