Saddle Butterflyfish Wall Hanging

Saddle Butterflyfish Wall Hanging

Found all along the north coast of Australia and the Great Barrier Reef, this colourful fish is distinguished by the black ‘saddle’ on its back. A giant among its other butterflyfish relatives, the Saddle Butterflyfish can grow up to 30 cm long. For a meal this fish loves algae, small  invertebrates, coral polyps and fish eggs. It’s very distant relatives include the Spot-tailed Butterfly Fish which we have included in our wall hangings.

Conservation status: Least concern.
